Over the course of 3 days, you will experience Basotho culture, history and cuisine, and visit all the main awe-inspiring locations of Lesotho where you will see incredible views, view bushman art at the Liphofong Caves, and much more.

Depart from Underberg at 8:00 am.
We drive through Underberg and Himeville to Lesotho, which are two beautiful villages nestled at the foot of the Sani Pass.
We have our first stop at Good Hope Trading Post where your guide will give a brief commentary of the old trading post. We then proceed to the protea view sight, at this stop you will have an opportunity to make photos of the dramatic landscape and of course the rock formation will be explained and how the enchanting Drakensberg mountains were born.
We arrive at the Sani Pass border control which stands at 1968m above sea level, passports will be stamped and also have a chance to refresh yourselves.
After the Sani Pass border we then start the Sani Pass which is 8 km’s of 4×4 adventure before we reach the Lesotho border control.
At the Lesotho border control your guide will assist you in getting your passports stamped. We then visit the highest pub in Africa for some refreshments. We spend about an hour at the highest pub.
From the pub we will then drive to the top of Black Mountain Pass 3240m above sea level, we have a couple of minutes appreciate the magnificent views of the Lesotho kingdom.
We then visit a living Basotho village where you will have a true Basotho cultural experience. A tour of the village will be conducted by a local Mosotho guide, we spend about 1hour at the village.
After lunch we depart for Liphofung Caves, en route we stop at Letseng diamond mine to view the mine from the outside. We then continue on the Roof of Africa route to Liphofung caves via Moteng pass 2820m. We arrive at Liphofung, we hike for about 10 minutes under the guidance of the resident guide to the caves to view Bushman art. The history and culture of the San which were the first people to live in Southern Africa will be narrated.
We drive through the bustling town of Botha Bothe which is the birth place of Moshoeshoe the 1st the founding king of Lesotho. Our next stop is at the Subeng river to view the 250 million year old dinosaur footprints which are embedded in the river bed.
Check in at our accommodation for the night at Hlotse.

Breakfast at 07:00 hours.
After a hearty breakfast, we visit accommodation we visit a Mohair Weaving Project. The centre also comprises of a group of ladies with disabilities these amazing women buy mohair from local farmers. They tease, comb, spin and dye the mohair. They are then able to make many different types of products from the mohair using equipment which was sponsored by the Anglican missionaries. Proceeds from the sales of these products are then used to improve the lives of the women in and communities around Leribe.
From there we take a leisurely drive to Hakome Caves, this was once occupied by cannibals and it is believed that not very far from this sight was where Peete grandfather to Moshoeshoe was devoured by cannibals.
Thaba Busiou is our next stop. For people who are fit and healthy we can do a tour to the top of Thaba Busio. This is actually where Moshoeshoe won many victories against both the Zulu and British regiments. These victories along with his leadership abilities paved the way for the formation of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
We enjoy the beautiful country side on the way to the University town of Roma. A taste of some local street food is always on the cards, after purchasing our lunch we drive to the top of Roma where we will appreciate some dinosaur foot prints which are over 200 million years old.
After enjoying our street food we drive to Semonkong (place of smoke).
Mme Masitho welcomes us into her humble home and gives a beautiful blanket presentation. Blankets are an important part of the Basotho life and as a result they are popularly known as the “blanket people”.

An early morning walk to the Maletsunyana falls is recommended so that one can work up an appetite before enjoying a hearty but healthy breakfast. This is normally a 2 hour walk if you are reasonably healthy.
After breakfast we check out and start our journey back to Underberg via Qacha’s Nek.
