Over the course of 3 days, you will experience Basotho culture, history and cuisine, and visit all the main awe-inspiring locations where you will see incredible views, view bushman art at the Liphofong Caves, and much more.

Depart from Underberg at 8:00 am.
We drive through Underberg and Himeville to Lesotho, which are two beautiful villages nestled at the foot of the Southern Drakensberg mountains.
We have our first stop at Good Hope Trading Post where your guide will give a brief commentary of the old trading post. We then proceed to the protea view sight, at this stop you will have an opportunity to make photos of the dramatic landscape and of course the rock formation will be explained and how the enchanting mountains were born.
We arrive at the Sani Pass border control which stands at 1968m above sea level, passports will be stamped and also have a chance to refresh yourselves.
After the Sani Pass border we then have another 8 km’s before we reach the Lesotho border control.
At the Lesotho border control your guide will get your passports stamped. We then go to the highest pub in Africa for some refreshments. We spend about an hour at the highest pub.
From the pub we will then drive to the top of Black Mountain Pass 3240m above sea level, we have a couple of minutes to take in the magnificent views of the “mountain kingdom”.
We then descend the pass to our picnic spot for some lunch.
After lunch we then visit a living basotho village where you will have a true basotho cultural experience. A tour of the village will be conducted by a local basotho guide, we spend about 1:30 to 2 hours at the village. After this enriching cultural experience we then take a leisurely drive to check in at our accommodation.

Breakfast at 07:00 hours.
Depart at 08:30 for Liphofung Caves, en route we stop at Letseng diamond mine to view the mine from the outside. We then continue on the Roof of Africa route to Liphofung caves via Moteng pass 2820m. We arrive at Liphofung, we hike for about 10 minutes under the guidance of the resident guide to the caves to view Bushman art. The history and culture of the San which were the first people to live in Southern Africa will be narrated.
We drive through the bustling town of Botha Bothe which is the birth place of Moshoeshoe the 1st the founding king of Lesotho. Our next stop is at the Subeng river to view the 250 million year old dinosaur footprints which are embedded in the river bed.
We then have a picnic lunch. After lunch before we check into our accommodation we visit a Mohair Weaving Project.The center also comprises of a group of ladies with disabilities these amazing women buy mohair from local farmers. They tease, comb, spin and dye the mohair. They are then able to make many different types of products from the mohair using equipment which was sponsored by the Anglican missionaries. Proceeds from the sales of these products are then used to improve the lives of the women in and communities around Leribe.

Breakfast at 07:00
Depart at 08:30 am for a hike to a plateau to view the footprints of the Lesothosaurus which are embedded on the ceiling of a cave. This is quite a challenging hike and only recommended to the fit and healthy.
After this amazing experience we drive out of Lesotho via the Caledonspoort border control to the quaint town of Clarence where you can pick up your rental vehicle.
